Gaunts House
I am a member of the live-in community here at Gaunts House in Wimborne, Dorset. I would like to share with you what Gaunts House is all about. Hopefully some of you will come and experience its beautiful intention for yourselves.
Gaunts House operates in many capacities. It is a place for retreatants, resident guests, the live-in and extended community. It is a host to many varied courses and workshops, is a WWOOF host and is also home to the Richard Glyn Charitable Foundation Ltd, which is an educational charity working in numerous ways to facilitate and inspire each individual in their own profound learning. Profound learning refers to our inner searching and exploration as to who we are, the finding and following of our own path.
Living at Gaunts House has given me the opportunity to step away from the mainstream. The space here encourages and supports my natural yearning to explore my inner self and to be a part of something I believe in. I love the idea of a place that exists for the spiritual good. A place that allows each person who comes, to learn and grow in their own way, whatever is right for them. The intention is a beautiful one and Gaunts House is whatever each person makes it. For me it is an inspiration which is why I want to share it, in the hope that it will inspire you too.
If you have never been to Gaunts House before, a very special way of experiencing its magic is at our annual summer gathering. As well as raising funds for the charity, our summer gatherings also aim to give people a new, inspiring and fun experience that will hopefully leave a meaningful impression. With these aims in mind our summer gatherings’ include a wide variety of live music, activities for children and teenagers and a large nu

The Summer Gathering
mber of workshops throughout the four day event.
Last August was my first Gaunts summer gathering experience and I loved the opportunity of experiencing various workshops (drumming, dream interpretation, sound journey, peace ceremony...). It gave me the chance to try out things that I may not have otherwise done. Also some of the music was amazing. I especially loved Chintamani, a Mongolian inspired singing duo which was meditative and beautiful.
One of the best things about the summer gathering is the atmosphere. It is relaxed, friendly, loving, and peaceful. It is as though the gathering is an explosion, not only of all the hard work and organisation that has gone into it, but also of all of the love, goodwill and good intention that is created at Gaunts House in general throughout the year. The summer gathering is a taste of a way of being that is open, creative, magical, forward-thinking, spiritual and loving.
Our next summer gathering will be from the 11th to the 14th of August 2011 and I hope some of you will be intrigued enough to come along and experience it for yourselves. Or join us again. You can either camp in beautiful countryside or stay in the Gaunts mansion house. A big discount can be had by booking early or if you fancy a different kind of experience, come and volunteer, get to know the community and come for free.
