EPIC AT THE ROYAL COURT THEATRE, BACUP NR MANCHESTER

This was to be our second investigation and judging by our first time out as the Enigma Paranormal Investigation Crew we were expecting good things!
We arrived late at night to the theatre and surrounding us were a barrage of fireworks being let off from all directions, in hindsight not a good evening for paranormal investigation!
First of all the management were kind enough to show us around as a matter of safety so we knew the general layout of the theatre. Then it was lights out. I had said to everyone earlier on that despite all of the exciting dressing rooms and the stage area I was drawn to storage rooms at the back of the theatre. I wanted us to start there.
We entered into one of the storage rooms that appeared to be the oldest part of the theatre. It was pitch black and the room that we were shuffling into was full of stage props, paint and equipment including an old fashioned bicycle placed under a shelving area. Apart from the crew, we had a local journalist with us and a Dan who was theatre staff. I was really glad they were there to evidence what I must say is the most unbelievable spirit interaction I have ever witnessed to date.
We all stood still. Immediately I felt a lot of children around me and lots of people could smell a smelting aroma. I stated that I believed that this had once been a works where children were used for labour. (This was later confirmed). I immediately sensed the spirit of a young boy called Robert and a lady called Susan.
We could still hear the fireworks outside, but were assured there was no way firework smells or light could enter into the building as we were in the part that had been dug into a cliff side, in effect underground and were surrounded by three foot thick walls. There were no windows at all throughout the whole theatre.
As we stood waiting for our night vision to kick in we started to hear large raps being made in response to my questions. I then asked if Robert was there and the most almighty flash of intense white light lit up the room like an explosion. Ever the sceptic, I then asked Dan if there was definitely no way the outside could interfere. It was impossible, he stated, we were underground. There was also no one else in that area. I asked Robert to flash the light again BANG another flash came immediately, you could hear the energy of the flash. It formed into a large square in the corner of the room like a door. I was starting to feel that this was the main vortex area into the building. I felt absolutely stunned as I watched the light again as it answered my next question, we were all completely amazed.
The temperature then dropped and it went freezing but on checking the thermometer, the room had gone up 2o degrees! That was unexplainable. I then asked Robert to flash the light twice, BANG BANG two flashes. I then asked him to change the speed of the flashes. The light then faded in and faded out again as requested. He did this twice. He then continued to flash to our requests and at some times a doorway was forming and you could just make out the shape of heads in the doorway. I was rooted to the spot. I asked one of our crew to record the phenomena, nothing came out, which again is unusual as the light was easy to see. The light then continued to flash on full power and we noticed that it was moving to the doorway of the room. As this was happening, we all then heard stiletto heels clicking along the cor
ridor. I was so disappointed, someone was going to interrupt our interaction! But the heels went past our door and then some keys jangled, the unlocking of a door and the heels echoed into the room next door. We were baffled. We checked on the radio, no one was in the area but us. No one was wearing heels that night and the room next door did not have a locked door. We had just witnessed a journey through the ethers of time and heard obviously a young lady in the past doing her rounds!
We were SO excited.
The lights then flashed right near the door. I asked if Robert wished for us to go into the corridor, in response to this the whole corridor lit up like there was again a massive explosion. Just at this point I then felt a massive blow to the inside of my legs and described this to everyone else, I hadn’t a clue what it was as I felt no spirit people near me. There was no sound I had no clue what had just hit me. We decided to put a faint uv light on as Robert wanted us to move out to the corridor.
As I looked down, I could make out the outline of a bicycle lying at my feet. I couldn’t believe it. The rest of the bicycle was wrapped around Wayne’s feet and the chain had rested on his boot leaving an oily mark. He was standing inside the A frame.
This was impossible, the bicycle had been positioned around ten foot away from us. It had shot over and hit my leg and then wrapped itself around another persons legs without any sound whatsoever. Staggering!
We then shuffled our way out through to the corridor. The atmosphere was literally electric.
We then were continually touched and tugged by spirit children as we got through to the corridor. I then heard the name Edward in my mind and asked Robert if he was with Edward. BANG, the whole corridor lit up with an almighty white light yet again. Again, the whole corridor lit up following our request. I then asked if Robert could show himself physically. We all held our breath as unbelievably a black mist started to form a little further up the corridor in the form of a small figure… But right then someone came through the door from another investigation team and the contact was completely lost.
We were all gutted but were now exceptionally excited.
After this we then encountered many residual and active spirit people that brought us sound, footsteps, lights and large bangs.
In the bar area, we again sat in the dark and invoked spirit to come and join us. After a while we heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs and approach the door. We heard the light switch on from outside and then the double doors slowly started to open allowing the light to spill through. I was frustrated as I thought it was someone else again disturbing our contact. I shouted out, “Leave the door shut can you go away and turn the light off!” The door closed and then the light went out, the footsteps didn’t walk away so with a big sigh, we turned our torches on to go and let in whoever it was. I walked straight to where I had seen the lights through the opening door and realised that I had walked straight up to a solid wall. There was no door there! We tried the door further along and found no one there and no lighting.
Dan stated that in the past, where we had seen the door opening, there was actually a doorway there and had now been blocked in.
I couldn’t believe it, I had told a spirit to go away thinking it was a human!
There were also other connections with spirit during the rest of the evening but safe to say, this place is definitely going to merit another visit!
